TDEE is your total calorie burn in a day, combining your BMR with your activity level. It is the most practical number for managing weight — eat below your TDEE to lose, above to gain, and at it to maintain.

Formula
TDEE = BMR × Activity Multiplier

Sedentary × 1.2 | Light × 1.375 | Moderate × 1.55
Active × 1.725  | Very Active × 1.9
A common strategy: subtract 500 kcal/day from TDEE to lose ~0.5 kg per week; add 500 kcal to gain.
